Clinic treatments

At Future Steps, we offer a variety of treatments tailored to support children and families.

Our services are designed to help children achieve and reach their full potential.

Group Programmes

We offer group sessions to develop social, motor, and functional skills, including:

01

Social Skills (Score)

Improving ability to make friendships, communicate, share, work as a team, and show empathy to peers and adults.

02

Handwriting (Earth)

Enhancing handwriting skills from the foundations of fine motor skills to proficiency in cursive writing.

03

Functional Skills (Smile)

Teaching essential life skills including self-care, dressing and organisation, to help children with developmental delay to become more independent.

Early Years treatments

01

Individual Treatment

From just a few weeks old, we focus on supporting key stages of development from birth to age 5.

Treatments help children build important sensory and motor skills, setting the foundation for balance, muscle memory, planning, and emotional regulation.

02

Home Programmes

Home Programmes may be recommended to support progress between clinic visits. These programmes are customised to your child’s needs and include therapeutic and everyday activities that can be done at home with common household items like pillows, blankets, or playground equipment.

Research shows that home involvement boosts a child’s progress.

03

Nursery Programmes

If your child attends nursery, our therapists may recommend a Nursery Programme to complement their treatment. These programmes are designed to support development at nursery and include activities that nursery staff can carry out with minimal equipment.

The programme outlines activities, duration, and expected outcomes, with photos to guide staff.

04

Group Treatment

Early Years Group Treatment invites parents to actively participate in their child’s development, helping them build sensory-motor skills needed to meet milestones, regulate emotions, and prepare for nursery and school.

This is a sociable, friendly, and affordable setting that focuses on the foundational skills your child needs for growth.

How this will help your child

01

Improve balance and motor planning for better movement (walking, running, navigating obstacles)

02

Develop the ability to use both sides of the body together, which aids in mark-making

03

Strengthen fine motor skills to support tasks like dressing and handling toys

04

Increase social interaction and ability to play with others

05

Help manage emotions and understand friendships

06

Improve listening skills and ability to follow instructions

07

Provide strategies and support for parents to continue development at home

kind words

“I can see such a difference in Grace since starting the Early Years Group at Future Steps.

I never thought she’d be doing yoga and counting to twenty! I’m so proud of her progress. Thanks to the guidance from Future Steps, we can now continue her development at home. We’ve seen great progress in our daughter.”

Support for Pre-term babies

Pre-term babies experience different sensory inputs that can affect their sensory development.

The calm, quiet environment of the womb is replaced by bright lights, loud noises, and limited movement in the neonatal unit, impacting their ability to respond to sensory stimuli and develop motor skills.

Our support includes Newborn Behavioural Observations (NBO), which help parents understand their baby’s cues, build confidence, and strengthen their bond. We also offer sensory-motor interventions to help babies develop the skills needed for milestones like sitting, listening, and focusing, preparing them for school.

Our approach empowers parents with strategies to support their child’s development at home, leading to improved motor skills and readiness for school.

Support
for Adults

We assess, treat and support adults

with a range of challenges including anxiety, clients who have experienced neurological trauma, or those who have received a diagnosis of ADHD or Autism.

Our Future Families Team also support adults who have experienced trauma by providing specialist trauma-informed care, including Somatic Experience Therapy, Neuro-Affective Touch Therapy and Sensory Integration.
