On 29th May 2013, whilst on holiday in Stratford with her family, Julie Davis developed the foundations and concepts that soon became Future Steps; Training, Treatment and Opportunities for Therapeutic Success. As an Occupational Therapist, with years of clinical experience in the field of Paediatrics and specialist skills in the delivery of Sensory Integration Therapy, it had been the dream of Julie Davis to set up a consultancy service which would offer therapy time to children in every school, with motor and sensory difficulties. Now, thanks to schools believing in this vision, it has become a reality that we can change how children function in their everyday life.
As a specialised service based in North East England, Future Steps saw the need to adapt to the changes in the provision of occupational therapy, and we wanted to continue our excellent outcomes by providing alternative packages to schools, and professional organisations. We are now able to provide a variety of packages developed by years of clinical experience and expertise with programmes which have been tailored to ensure the child’s educational stages are met.
Future Steps Consultancy is divided into several component areas:
- Full occupational therapy assessments and report
- Training for parents and professionals
- School-based therapy and services
- Treatment at the Future Steps clinic
- Consultancy to Looked After Services, Fostering and Adoption and other Social Services
By offering early intervention to children that present motor co-ordination and sensory processing disorders, you will alter their school performance and see improvements in:
- Social interaction with peers
- Enjoyment of learning
- Reducing anxiety and school refusal

We offer a range of services including assessments, treatments and programmes for the home and school environments.
